She slips in in the morning
a bright smiling face presented to the world.
The smiles and nods continue,
punctuation in all the right places
throughout class.
Finally she slips her test into my basket
and slides back to her seat.
I wonder if it will reveal
the 60% of last time.
She's sliding along.
The smile is vacant,
the nods for the trees.
Well, wake up, Little Sleeper,
Your teacher is calling your name.

The Sleeper's lucky to have such a caring teacher.
I think Little Sleeper and I must be distant kin. I felt just like her this week.
Made me think back to my years as a student and wondering if my teacher really noticed me or if I blended in well. Nice to know you really notice yours.
TT,
You are just so perceptive. I hope you can save that one........
She could easily be lost in the shuffle, or continue to try and just slide along.......
I hope you can pull her out of the free-fall.

Okay TT, I posted before because most of the time I can't comprehend what you are trying to say..
Now I understand.. I wish my child will be lucky to have a caring teacher like you one day.. I always remebered mine to this day..
