Heavy Equipment

OK, I have to admit to feeling more than a little funny writing a post about GEAR for a BIKE. But I promised Lisa and took the pictures, so here goes...

Everything you need in order to be a utilitarian biker goddess...

Quick Mtx Track trunk bag that slides into grooves on the QR Beam Rack Mtx. The rack supports 20 pounds and attaches to my seat stem with a quick-release adjustment thingy. (As opposed to the old bike racks with supports that reached down to attach to my rear hub.)

(Do I sound remotely intelligent here??)

Trunk bag with side pannier unzipped. Ooh, spacious...

The whole kit 'n' caboodle with the trunk bag open to show room for swimsuits, shoes, goggles, groceries... the possibilities are really endless, Ladies and Gents.

Hope this helps you out, Lisa! (And any others.) I'm off to clear my head with a good poem or two.

Oh, didn't you know? These types of posts fall into the category of "bike porn".
Be careful when you bags are fully loaded. I've heard it takes some getting used to.

I think I have one of the QR beams as well. Never get a chance to use it.. I like using a backpack instead..

Hey, that looks like that stuff is on your racing bike? Ah-haaa

Maybe I should post pictures of my fanny pack and see if it compares. Congrats on the 10.1 miles on the relay even though you did not meet your goal. You're speedy!

geekgirl - panniers and luggage racks in a tri-blogger's house is the "bike porn" equivilant of an RV in a magazine about race cars. Nothing wrong with RV's, but it's not porn.

TT- Nice! Now where's that new fast bike?

THANK YOU!!!

I like the idea of a beam that attaches to the seat stem.

Yesterday I cut down on the weight in my backpack and that helped but my balance was still a bit off.

TT,

Do I see aero bars on that bike? So we can assume this bike is getting put out to pasture, now that a new horse is in town?

Poor bike, relegated to pulling a wagon.

I like the cool rear deck pack! The biker equiv of a station wagon.

Wow looks better than my method of "stuff it all in the back of your shirt."

Marty's comment is pretty funny :)

Boy, some people sure are a lock for a SECRET. Sheesh! Note ladies: both of the secret-breakers are men!

To anyone who HASN'T encountered the 2 bigmouths (who will go unnamed) -- I am getting a tri bike! Woo hooo - pics when it comes. Then we'll have some real porn on this site. ;)

TT,

Geez! I didn't know it was a secret!

Now I'm labeled a blabber mouth....
See JWM and I may have let on, but Runbubbarun already had a bead on you!

Course, he's another guy.... Perceptive, isn't he?

You're really getting one? I was just alluding to some non-existent bike that you probably should buy....

:)

Now, tell me who exactly can't keep a secret? Maybe that's a site no one reads.

That's pretty nice... sure beats lugging around a huge backpack, which in turn makes your back all sweaty.

Oooh very nice!

Yay for new tri bikes too! :)

I don't ride, but even I recognize good bike porn when I see it.
