How's the Shiva in you?

TT,
Ah yes, Shiva, gentle and fierce, old and young. Tear it down, to build it up. Very male energy. A difficult concept for western thinking too, don't you think? Paradoxical dual nature concepts like this don't fit black and white thinking that dominates our philosophies.
I think of you and I think of Shakti. Shiva goes no where without Shakti. They are intertwined, inseparable. Power, life force, and energy. The feminine to the masculine Shiva. Balance always, a beautiful concept in eastern religions.
Oops, I guess my anthropology training is showing......
Now if only I had four arms, I could swim so much better!

Oooo..... I FORGOT:
Nice work out yesterday! Youza! Don't tear it down too much or Shiva won't have enough to put together.. (lessee... ankle bone connected to the..Slot B....left foot..)

Nice..
as for me.. I'm feeling like destroyer of viral infections and creator of large voids in training by sleeping in.. I'll be back tho.

Hi there... I just stopped by (hope you don't mind). I am also a teacher and my husband is a triathlete. We have 3 1/2 year old twin boys and a two month old son.
Well, I didn't think I knew enough about Hindu to appreciate the subtlety of this post, however Marty the fool's comments certainly edified me!
25miles on the bike followed by more painting of daughters room.
i tore it down, i hope shiva is building it back up. in any event, i have that good soreness feeling that you get after a good workout...
My Shiva? Still in destructive mode, if the past week's any indication. Glad she's being more benevolent for you.
I like the destroyer, creator part.
We always try to destroy our muscles to create stronger ones..
