What Do You Want?

What do you want?

A tri bike. No. TWO tri bikes - a custom-built steel and a carbon fiber equally outfitted. In my garage for 2 weeks this summer. I'd ride the blazes out of them and then purchase the one that put more smiles on my face.

What do you want?

Ok, Ok. Freedom from desire. From the constant ache, craving, clawing, anticipation of the next thing. To be in the present and live here. In this time. In this place. Inner peace.

Humph. Better stick with the tri bike fantasy.

maybe the inner peace would come easier if you had the 2 tri bikes, eh?

Desire to have a fancy TRI bike is not a bad thing.

It gives you the Freedom to go faster, then peace will come.

Was there really a choice here?

Hello? Two tri bikes. Now you are talking crazy.

One tri bike and one super sweet road bike. Then, if that gets boring...

tandem
mtb
fixed gear
single speed mtb
Cyclocross

By the time you get through that list.. And if you want a second tri bike.. Then it will be time..

If you are that torn, make sure to ask about the warranties / replacement policies.

I take my post back.. You want "freedom from desire". Well it occurs to me the times I most want a new bike are when I'm least riding a bike. My advice, first and foremost, put some miles on.

(and get a sweet bike)

Both admirable wishes. I'm saving up for a tri bike, although it won't be nearly of that caliber. I've got a couple years until that's a feasible goal. The whole peace thing- if you figure out where you get it, please clue us in!

Since I don't have much time to run let alone get on a bike I think I would like the freedom from desire and want, especially the chocolate I eat to help me get through the day.

And the post below about needing your job as a 5th grade teacher. You're absolutely right! I do need your job. A paycheck would be nice.

I would have inner peace if chocolate had no fat or calories! I love my bike!

You bet. The tri bike desire is easier to achieve. The inner peace thing is a lifelong journey; never ending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
