Shoveling Snow

I like the feel of it.
I like the tidiness of it.
I like the systematic nature of it. You wipe this quadrant clean and then begin the next rectilinear section.
I like the power of it - whipping all that snow off to the side, watching it cascade off of my shovel, the little snowflakes joining all the other snowy crystals who've already fallen prey to my efforts. (Fear not: my fantasies of world domination end here.)
I like the satisfaction of peering out the window - frequently - and seeing that our driveway is (still) free and clear.

Eat your hearts out, you warm weather wimps; I'm not jealous at all. Not a lick.

Wow, you're a better woman than I. Shovelling snow makes me LONG for the warm breezes of the tropics. Although the OCD systematic geometry of it appeals to me, I'd much rather chill with the systematic geometry of my knitting needles.

BTW, 8x100 on a 1:45 is smokin' fast! Not sure I could pull that off...I'm typically 1:35 on a 1:50 or 1:55...remember on my set I was leaving from the blocks (you get a LOT of speed from your dive in) AND we had 7-8 minutes to recover before the next one. I bet you'd be right along side me... and with all that shovelling...your arms and back must be monster!!! Keep up the good work...

Me too! Me too!

I heart snow! And weather wimps are just no fun. ;)

I have to shovel for the first time all season tonight! I'm actually really looking forward to it.

Now you have made me miss shoveling snow....! (It IS a great workout!)
I guess that's why I like raking the yard and sweeping the flagstone patio now...going back to those "Ohio" times deep in my psyche...
