That's my new race strategy. Courtesy of Piper at 11:30 last night. He hovers by the bed, waiting for Chris or me to go to the bathroom and then BAM - he's up and in your spot before you can say Bob's your uncle. Very effective.
Need a race strategy? Get a dog. I'm listening to mine. I'm going to hang on the heels of other racers this summer and then BAM, pass 'em at the water stop or porta-potties. Ha, victory is in the bag.
OK, so the name may need work... what about
Lurk before you leap?

I think that sounds like a good strategy. I also like the lurk before you leap name. It's a good one.
Yes, good strategy. Provided you're doing long enough races that the front folks are hitting said porta-thingy..
Also, just shorten up the name to "BAM!" That way if they don't go to the potty, you can still fall back and just do the BAM part.
I know not what I speak of though.. I'm so BOP it's not funny.
I wonder, if you hover all james bond style.. will they go to the porta?
If you want to really go full on, look into modifying the staduim mate into a running version..... eek.
Good luck!

Hmm, I like Hover then BAM. I'll think of that next time I do a crit race.
Ha ha! So cute. Piper's a smart pup. :)
Especially when the weather is bad, you can use people to draft off and get the brunt of the ugly stuff. Then you take them out.
Gotta love it.
Now I might have to look over my shoulder if we ever happen to do the same race.
I like lurk before you leap.
And Piper looks so innocent in the photo...can you imitate the puppy dog eyes too?! Folks would never see it coming...lol
I love it! Your dog is adorable.
That was awesome.
Welcome to the TBA.
Stay tuned...
Smart doggie! (cute too!)
At least he is keeping your place warm!
I like just plain HOVER. It's catchy. It's easy to remember.
Cool dog too!
I didn't get to your last post until today, but I have to say: Wow. I could only wish every kid in the in-between would get you as a teacher. After watching my own daughter get thru High school, I realize how important teachers are as mentors. They give something parents simply cannot.
Beautiful post.
