The Kindness of Strangers

The kind
of kindness
that you don't expect
from people who
"owe" you nothing

A tattoo-clad man
and his tween son
watching over me
as I swam through
Jet ski-infested waters today

The bloggers who read
who listen
who comment
as I swim through
tumultuous waters
of a different sort

Sometimes the kind
of kindness
you don't expect
is the most reassuring of all -
People are good.

Just getting caught up...sounds like you have hit some bumps in the road. Thinking of you and hoping all is well.

Oh good. For awhile, I'd wondered what had happened that you weren't letting us regular folk visit and feel renewed by one of your poise-full poems.

Just think of us as TA, "triathletes annoymous" support group.. Always here to listen(I guess read).. Who else can understand our crazy lifestyles..

Hang in there CheeseHead, one day at a time.

Been away, moving and all. Felt...affected by what you seem to be going through.

The blogosphere can be such an awkward place for sentiment. I feel helpless what to say to you about such significant things. Everything on my screen comes out snapshotty and cavalier.

Thoughtful of you. Know it.

Hey there TT,
We talked about a lot of this over the winter... know that I'm still here, still reading and still hoping that you're taking care of yourself and staying strong. You'll get thru the tough spots...trust yourself and love yourself. It'll work out the way it's supposed to...

It is often hard to know what to say. You can share, or not, whatever you feel is appropriate here. I'll be thinking of you and hope all is well.

People ARE good. We have to believe that to get through. Nice post.
